Both Ari in the audience and Imad in stage replied. Basically, that MeeGo itself is fully open source but vendors might add proprietary components at their own discretion. These usually come in the hardware adaptation (where in many cases that reality today is that there are not solid open alternatives for everything) and the application layer (Flash and Skype were mentioned as examples).
This is in line with the discussions already held at meego.com.
Yesterday in the social jetlagged me said around 20:00 "perhaps I should go to the hotel". But then it turned out that Red Bull was included in the list of free soft drinks and (sorry for the advertisement) I actually managed to keep the chat mainly with texrat, GeneralAntilles (Ryan) and Ronan (macron) until midnight.
Today is the MeeGo workgroup and at leas my slot is about workgroup and not the usual presentation with slides.
