Default Broadcom BCM43XX

No support for Broadcom BCM43XX WiFi (for instance in HP Mini 210).

Same problem on a notebook with BCM4311.

It could be possible to compile the original drivers from Broadcom:
http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php
but I cannot try this, as I do not have access to the network with that notebook (neither LAN is recognized).

EDIT: how to install the STA driver http://slaine.org/_slaine/Meego_1.0_Wifi.html (internet connection needed)

Hi, I have an HP Mini 5101, which sports the same wifi chipset. I have followed the instructions and compiled my own wl.ko.

Sadly, though, it works very rarely, after several reboots and several tries.

Code:
iwlist scan eth0
finds the essids nearby (even though they are rarely shown in the network manager), but I can't associate with my WPA protected one (except, as I said, once every several reboots and tries).

Any help?

PS: the same broadcom drivers on the same laptop (with Ubuntu NR) work quite fine.

Does this fix not work then

http://slaine.org/_slaine/Meego_1.0_Wifi.html

My wifi on my lenovo s10-2 is broadcom 43xx and did not work without this or indeed on ubuntu where I had to install it using the hardware drivers GUI they had..

Tried that Slaine's fix with 5101. Wifi starts to work and finds network, but is unable to connect. Any ideas?

I have Linksys WRT54GS router with following settings:

- SSID enabled
- WPA2 personal (TKIP+AES)

When booting to xp the same netbook connects to the network straight away, so there should be no problem with it, router or the network settings..

My HP Mini210 works fine.I followed the steps in here:
http://slaine.org/_slaine/Meego_1.0_Wifi.html

But the wifi can't scan access points automatically, you got to enter a SSID then it will display some APs

I tried to connect to unprotected network, but the result is the same. Red bar with a failure message.

Meego seems to be great OS, hopefully there is a fix for this minor flaw
