Default WeTab with Handset UX and dual-boot?

I just got a WeTab in Germany. Interesting UX although, honestly, I got it with another idea in mind: testing Handset UX (and eventually the future Tablet UX) in this MeeGo friendly hardware.

I couldn't find any information. Any hints? fwiw I'm able to read German.

I'd suggest you to join wetab-community.de
They're very helpful, and can read and write English quite well, if required.

Your idea sounds interesting and should certainly be doable.

I love your idea of WeTabs on the MeeGo Community Device Program.
I have a WeTab but there may be lots of other (non-German) people longing for a device.
It makes sense, since it's the only native MeeGo device available right now.

Maybe if 4tiitoo (the software company behind the WeTab) isn't able to sponsor them, since they're a small company, Intel could do, like with the Lenovo IdeaPads?

Hi, I build the MeeGo Handset image to my WeTab but its not very usefull until now.

But I´ve seen this Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GB-nn...layer_embedded

Do anybody know how to get this Image and if its running with an Intel Atom CPU?

1. The touchscreen is unresponsive. (Presumably this is a driver problem. See also bug 9524 )

2. The UX launcher image does not utilize the whole display, which is unsurprising since Pinetrail is a handset image. (Presumably this problem is fixable with xrandr.)

3. The build comes with the ath3k driver rather than the ath9k one that the modem requires.

WeTab xorg.conf is set up in a bad manner last I checked in terms of touchscreen, forgetting several sensors.

UX launcher image to fit screen is /usr/share/meegotouch/targets/default.conf or something

Ath9k can be enabled in kernel, using COBS with ease.

If someone is still interested in such a toy for some MeeGo testing:

The WeTab Sold-Out has begun as far as I can see. You could get now one without GSM Module and 16MB flash for 250€ instead of 450€!

Have a look at this german online store: otto.de
