Edit: More seriously, groups like these could actually be a good opportunity for some flame-free community interaction for business types.

actually a workmate of mine was just asking about starting a group in Helsinki. I suggested that perhaps you could convene in Kirjasto10, or some other place where alcohol might not have the main attraction for the event and which might have potential of luring in some of the younger members of the community too.

There's now five of us, and the first step is complete. We could meet unofficially at some point. Once we have 9 members, we can make the group official.

Would the current members prefer to meet after work or during the weekend?

jnwi (and other organizers), consider this when possible: combine meetups with other, formal events that are related. For instance, when there are industry events or college campus presentations for mobility, MeeGo, Linux, Qt, or other similar technologies, see if you can meetup immediately afterward to capture the energy... and some of the audience, too.
