Default Tablet UX : open governance ?

The creation of a "Tablet" subforum in this official forum and the MeeGo tablet demonstration made by intel shows that tablets are within the scope of the MeeGo project. It also appears on this scheme on the official website.

But in the same time Tablet form factor is not listed in the device page.

Also MeeGo project made big promise about open governance. This why I believe the community could make a good use of more information. I understand the interest to code first something rougthly usable and then release it to the community and adopt open devellopment (like for MeeGo handset).

But even before seeing the source code, it would be nice to now more on the roadmap :
* Is there going to be a "Tablet UX" part of the MeeGo project ?
* Is the UI demonstrated in the Intel demo going to be open-sourced ?
* Is this UI going to be devellop in the open (at meego.gitorious.com for instance) one day ?
* Is this UI coded with Qt or gtk/clutter or something else ?

There seems to be quite a lot of interest for the tablet UX, but in a same time there's pretty much no info about it at all.

I guess at this point we are waiting to have a Tablet device page once the rest is in place. The previous categories were created by the MeeGo launch.

Yes, there will be a Tablet Working Group and a Tablet Program, as you can see at http://meego.com/about/governance

I guess this must be answered by someone at Intel.

Of course, just like Netbook, Handset, IVI and any other official piece of code at MeeGo.

Qt based, like all the new UXs being developed in the MeeGo context.

So I undersand there is going to be an open source & openly developed "Tablet UX" inside MeeGo project, but that it may not be the UI seen in the intel demo, right ?

Nice news anyway

That’s bad. I really liked the UI. At least the screen where you could control all your multimedia. It was quite informative.

Rusty Lynch from Intel made a detailed technical explanation of the work made by his team on the Tablet UX at http://qt.nokia.com/qtdevdays2010/qt...ssions#qtmeego in San Francisco last week. It's based on Qt Quick and they had to develop the prototype seen on YouTube really really quick.

Ping him for the slides (or to Thiago Macieira, since both shared session). I believe the session was recorded (audio only, but there was no UX seen at all) but I don't know when it will be published.

It's still unclear when the MeeGo project with have a Tablet UX published.

Hello,

new to meego,

some time has passed on this topic. Is there any update if and when the tablet UX will come online? I have a device the iiview M1 touch and it would be a great target. But since I am new to meego and Linux I am not sure where to start. The Netbook Live Image 1.1 loads fine (except wireless) but I can not boot from the installed version probably to device name mismatches for the boot drive between install and runtime ..
