The user interfaces are not yet available. So it is normal that all the early image published boot into a terminal : those image are aimed to test the core of the platform. The rest of MeeGo will arrive progressivelly until May (this is when the first complete release is planned). There is no annoucement yet on when the different interfaces will first be available for testing

cheers that answers my question then I will look back later as I am mostly interested in testing the User Interface.

One Last question, is there a plan for a upgrade path from Moblin to MeeGo or will it be a fresh install? I am guessing it will be a clean install..

I didn't heard of any plan for such an upgrade... Technically it sounds feasible since most of the MeeGo core and packaging comes from Moblin. But I bet it won't be supported. And also it is much more safe to do a fresh install.

thanks for the info about the interface. will a test interface be available in a beta anytime soon? i am very excited about the interface, considering i already have moblin installed, and i really like it. that brings me to my question. will moblin development be stopped and focused on meego?
