That's not good. Can you ask the browser team if multitouch events are supported at all or disabled due to platform or patent issues?

Thanks for the rest of the info.

I will ask about these ones. Some components might have been released this week as non-free just because there was no time to get them though the legal process in the last minute.

But I really want to have the followup of this discussion in the meego-handset mailing list since there is where people driving the MeeGo CE project like Makoto, Jukka, Carsten etc are active.

Thanks, I missed that. Wasn't Harmattan going to come with connman & ofono? Why is it still icd & csd based?

And if something without connman can be called MeeGo does that mean that the OpenSuSE, Fedora etc meego spins can apply and be accepted now?

libspeex, libjpeg62
These are just slightly optimised versions of the freely available libs. I don't like Nokia's decision to fork & close them either, but there's no need to lose any sleep about them. In fact I think there's a faster free jpeg lib now :-)

Someone asked about FM radio. Hartti already answered but let me confirm that from a pure hardware description point of view there is both FM RX and TX inside. As far as I know nobody has tried to reach them, so I don't know how that road would be from an R&D experimentation point of view.

Is this http://boards.openpandora.org/.../517-powervr-sgx-530/ still true?

(No open source driver for PowerVR SGX 530, the GPU on the N9?)

Since it won't be officially done as previously stated, there's nothing stopping you (platformwise, at least) from taking the bits from an N9/N950 image, and adapting them to an N900.

We can provide information about Nokia components. You will need to ask the third parties about the software they own.

I don't remember any information given in that direction. Technology decisions for specific products are made based on many factors. As far as I remember the decision was always to keep the telephony and connectivity stack in Harmattan while keeping contributing and integrating their features to oFono, Connman and neighbors.

That is a question for the LF and the TSG an whoever wants to request the use of the MeeGo trademark. It's really out of scope in this thread.
